Being a City boy, I have yet to get around to buying a tuner and testing it out. However, I realize that some of you may want to tune into your local shows, and I don’t blame you. This section is a work in progress as eventually I will buy the tuner I recommend below and give it a proper review. But in the mean time, I’ve included a few reviews that should give you a good idea as to what we have here before you plunk down your cold hard cash on it!

Elgato EyeTV One

Requirements: You will need a TV Antenna in order for this to work

EyeTV One is a digital TV tuner that connects to your TV antenna and delivers the huge variety of digital TV shows that are broadcast over-the-air straight to your Mac or PC. Best of all, these digital TV broadcasts are free, so you can say goodbye to expensive subscription fees for digital TV services.

The quality of digital TV that is available over-the-air with an antenna is spectacular, particularly the many shows that are broadcast in full HD. In fact, the picture quality of the same HD program over-the-air is often much better than digital cable or satellite. And since your computer’s high-resolution display truly does justice to the superb picture quality, EyeTV One turns your Mac or PC into a wonderful HDTV.

Elgato EyeTV One Reviews

These reviews range in terms of when they were written, but considering this product came out last year and hasn’t been changed, they are all still valid. To sum them all up, this is one hell of a product that does one thing, record over the air TV… and it does it very well.
